Pharrell Williams has still not been returned, along with Ralph Northam, governor of the U.s. state of Virginia, held a press conference in which they announced that Juneteenth is a paid holiday for public employees in the state.
On the 19th of June, to celebrate two years since the official end of slavery in the United States of america the enslaved the people of the state of Texas, on the 19th of June, 1865, when the last in the country were the same.
“This is a great opportunity to highlight the importance of Juneteenth, actually, to embrace it, and treat it as a celebration of the freedom of the black people to make a living,” said the musician and music producer, who grew up in the Virginia Beach area. Williams has, in the past, strongly advocated for the recognition of Juneteenth, and produced in 2018, a musical about the day.
