Iker Casillas has on Monday withdrawn from the race for the presidency of the Spanish football federation RFEF. The legendary goalkeeper didn’t think it was the right time to make an attempt to do the job.
“The main reason for this is the exceptional situation in which our country’s social, economic, political, and gezondheidstechnisch is. Soccer and society, a sense of togetherness, no fight”, refers to Match-in a statement to the coronacrisis.
“The football association needs to focus on the future of the players, clubs and leagues. An election at this time is not the most important, and that process will only disturb you.”
