For Wout Weghorst was his goal for VfL Wolfsburg in the 0-1 win away from home against Werder Bremen, as a way to escape. The striker was on a Sunday, for the first time since the resumption of the Bundesliga spot-on.
“You saw the tension release from my goal. That was the only joy for us, and for myself,” said the 27-year-old Weghorst, who is screaming in joy after his goal. The victory climbed up to the Germany for the second place, which gives you the right to take part in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.
“It was a very nice event with a lot of these and the darkness”, commented he. “In the first half, I had the chance, but that was not an option. After that, I continued to wait for my opportunity.”
