A Romanian doctor on Friday for a conditional sentence of a year and a half due to negligence in the death of Patrick Ekeng. The two-time Kameroens international, passed away in may of 2016, at the age of 26 as a result of a heart attack.
Ekeng, collapsed during a match, his club Dinamo Bucharest at Viitorul, in the other. The midfielder was taken to hospital, while the health care professional, Elena Duta, in hospital, no attempt was made to get him to revive him.
The death of a Ekeng, led four years ago to a lot of questions about the types of medical care for professional footballers in Romania by, among others, the international spelersvakbond FIFPRO.
