The widow of the murdered journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, the Prime minister-League called for the takeover of Newcastle United has to stop. A consortium consisting of Saudi Arabia, where the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman has been involved, are on the brink of a controlling stake in Premier League club to take on.
Bin Salman has been controversial, because according to the CIA in 2018, ordered the murder of Khashoggi, the Saudi arabian embassy or consulate in Istanbul. His involvement with the consortium has brought a storm of criticism, and now it also allows for Hatice Cengiz (the widow of Khashoggi) can be heard.
“The state of English football will be tarnished if you’re dealing with people who for the most heinous crimes have been committed and then try to cover it up. They want English football to have their image on location”, write the lawyers, in the words of Cengiz, according to the BBC.
