Kirsten Flipkens has Tuesday in Paris for the semi-finals of the doubles posted at Roland-Garros. With the Swedish Johanna Larsson defeated them, the American Nicole Melichar and the Czech Kveta Peschke in 1 hour and 55 minutes with a 3-6, 7-6 (7/4) 6-1.
Melichar and Peschke were the seventh seed on the gravel in the French capital. Flipkens and Larsson are fifteenth on the plaatsingslijst.
To a place in the final to take Flipkens and Larsson Thursday against Duan Ying-Ying and Zheng Saisai. That Chinese duo enlisted the Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and the Chinese Xu Yi-Fan, who is the fourth seed formed, with 6-2, 5-7 and 7-5.
It is the first time that Flipkens in the semi-finals of a Grand Slam in the doubles, in the singles matches played, the 33-year-old Antwerp in 2013 and a semi final at Wimbledon.
Wednesday also tries Elise Mertens for the semi-finals of the double. With the White-Russian Aryna Sabalenka gives them the Ukrainian Lyudmyla Kichenok and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko party. Only in the finals may Flipkens and Mertens meet. .
