Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain) finished in second place in the Tour of Italy, behind winner Richard Carapaz. The Italian had afterwards understood to be this summer to take part in the Tour de France, but wants to be himself, no pressure to impose it.
“It will be a little bit of my condition, depend on it, but I don’t go to the Tour with full focus on the standings,” said Nibali, that the French stage race in 2014 to his name, wrote. “I think I’m mostly going to focus on some of the rides, but that is so not fixed yet. Who knows mik, I on the mountains jersey. I have these Giro a lot of energy and need to see how I recover”.
Nibali finished in 1:05 of Carapaz. The Slovenian Primoz Roglic completed at 2:30, the stage.
