Alaphilippe races since his professional debut in 2013 for the team. This season, he is pretty bad, with a win in the Strade Bianche, Milan-Sanremo and the Walloon Arrow.

“The story continues”, it sounds on Instagram. “I’m happy to let you know that I have two more years to stay at Deceuninck-Quick Step. Thank you Patrick Lefevere for the faith.”

“Second family”

“This team has given me six years ago are given the chance to be a pro to be and here I feel at home,” says Alaphilippe on the website of Deceuninck-Quick Step. “It is my second family and I am grateful for all the support that I recent years have received as part of the great Wolfspack. I also had other offers, but my priority was always here bijtekenen. This team is unique and has a perfect environment to develop myself. I am glad that I now could bijtekenen.”

Patrick Lefevere, that the large field of some of the French teams overcame, drank a glass of wine with his zegekoning (9 victories) and gave him a kiss.

“Julian is part of our great family, and give him a new contract to sign, was one of our top priorities,” said the manager. “We took him on board as part of our policy to invest in young talents, that we quietly let grow into great riders. Julian is one of those riders, but he is more than a champion. He is also a friendly person. We hope that together we have a lot of memorable victories they can achieve together.”
