Caroline Wozniacki (WTA 13) is Monday, eliminated in the first round of Roland Garros. The Danish ex-world number 1, went 0-6, 6-3 and 6-3 down against the Russian Veronika Kudermetova (WTA 68).
Wozniacki won last year’s Australian Open but in Paris she could never high eyes. A quarter (2010 to 2017) is her best result at the Porte d’auteuil.
Kudermetova played in the second round against the Kazakh Zarina Diyas (WTA 99) or the French wildcard Audrey Albie (STA 289). Kiki Bertens (WTA 4) could have places for the second round. The Dutch, in 2016 halvefinaliste in Paris, was a 6-3, 6-4 too strong for the French Pauline Parmentier (WTA 66). She is now the Slovakian Viktoria Kuzmova (WTA 46), that the Frenchwoman Alize Cornet (WTA 48) wipte with a 6-4, 6-3.
