1B-club Union has Friday, Chris O’Loughlin proposed as new sports director. The forty-year Northern Irishman comes over from KV Kortrijk, where he last season T2 of Yves Vanderhaeghe was.
O’Loughlin was recently in Sint-Truiden at the battle, as an assistant (2013-2015, and 2017-2018) and head coach (2015-2016). Furthermore, he was already active in Africa, in various positions at the South African clubs Orlando Pirates and Supersport and the Congolese AS Vita, and in the south Pacific with Melbourne Victory.
O’Loughlin is the successor of the in February opgestapte Alex Hayes.
Union had a great season under the Slovenian Luka Elsner as the head coach. The locals finished the Proximus League as the third and surprised in both the belgian Cup (semi-finals) Play-off 2 (second in group A).
