Maria Sharapova, former number one of the world, let mitre go for Roland Garros (26 may – 9 June). The Russian, number 35 in the world rankings, has still too few training hours on the counter after a shoulder surgery.
Sharapova shared her decision on her Instagram page. “Sometimes the good decisions are not always the easiest,” said the winner of the Roland Garros-2012 edition and 2014. “The good news is that I resumed training, and I slowly force find in my shoulder.”
The 32-year-old Russian has less than eight parties behind the back.
