The flemish minister of Sport Philippe Muyters responded positively to the designation of Antwerp as host city. “Gymnastics is with nearly 130,000 members, is a very popular sport in Flanders in which we topsportvlak currently do very well. The candidacy for the world CHAMPIONSHIPS artistic gymnastics 2023 is supported with a grant of 800,000 euros from the Flemish government and € 400,000 from the City of Antwerp.
