The Dutch city of Amsterdam wants petrol and diesel cars ban starting in 2030. With the ‘action Plan for Clean Air’ the city council there is the greenhouse approach.
‘Air pollution is an assassin and one of the biggest health risks in Amsterdam’, warns the verkeerswethouder of the city, Sharon Dijksma. Amsterdam live according to Dijksma a year less for a long time in the polluted air.
In order to do something about it, Amsterdam wants all gasoline and diesel engines in the city replaced with emission free alternatives by 2030. In a first phase, from next year, all diesel cars built for 2005 from Amsterdam banned. Gradually will also have newer cars, the city is no longer in may.
With grants and permits wants the city directors stimulate in order to clean vehicles.
