The Serb, Dusan Lajovic (ATP 48) has set Saturday as first placed for the final of the ATP Masters 1.000 tournament in Monte Carlo (clay/5.207.405 euro).
In the semi-finals, the Serb yet again for a surprise, with the Russian Daniil Medvedev (ATP 14) the tenth seed off: 7-5 and 6-1 after 1 hour and 36 minutes. A round earlier, had Medvedev’s world number one Novak Djokovic out of the tournament gekegeld. Lajovic was in Monte Carlo too strong for our fellow countryman David Goffin (ATP 21), the Austrian Dominic Thiem (ATP 5) and the Italian Lorenzo Sonego (ATP 96).
For the Serb it is the first ATP final in his career. In 2014, he arrived at Roland Garros in the fourth round and last year there was a kwartfinaleplaats in Madrid. In the final he will Sunday against the winner of the duel between the Spaniard Rafael Nadal (ATP 2) and the Italian Fabio Fognini (ATP 18).
