During the first quick run experienced both Ferrari’s problems at the end of their round. Vettel and Leclerc came in traffic and that made sure that especially Leclerc had to fear to early to be switched off.
The Monegask had at the end of Q1, therefore, with a new set of tyres the road again, a disappointment for the strategic opportunities later during the qualification. Leclerc reed, however, smooth for the second time in a handful of thousandths of Valtteri Bottas, who, in his Mercedes to the fastest time riding.
In Q2, we saw both Mercedes drivers at the top. Lewis Hamilton was 91 thousandths faster than Valtteri Bottas.
