Yanina Wickmayer (WTA 126) has on Thursday qualified for the semi-finals at the ITF-indoortoernooi in English Shrewsbury (hard/ $ 60,000).
The 29-year-old Wickmayer, the first seed, put the 21-year-old Scottish wildcard Maia Lumsden (STA 344) to the side with 6-3 and 6-3. The match lasted one hour and twenty minutes.
Her opponent in the semi-final battle is the French Harmony Tan (WTA, 301). That was a 6-1, 6-0 far too strong for the Czech Tereza Smitkova (WTA 138).
Also Kimberley Zimmermann (WTA 242) attempting Thursday to qualify for the semi-finals. The 23-year-old kwalificatiespeelster is opposed to the 28-year-old Russian Vitalia Diatchenko (WTA 127), the second seed.
