Last year after the half of the line-up early on the internet, includes the organisation for months the lips stiff on each other. That silence comes to an end today as the first two headliners for Pukkelpop 2019 are known.
On Saturday 17 August, Tame Impala, the Australian band around frontman and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker with a brand new album to Pukkelpop. Tame Impala enjoy a strong live-reputation, not in the least by the impressive, almost surreal light shows and laserprojecties. Tame Impala was already two times before at Pukkelpop in 2010 and in 2015.
Pukkelpoporganisator Chokri Mahassine: “Tame Impala is such a typical Pukkelpopband that through the years the festival has grown along with the organization. In 2010, they stood for the first time ever with us, in the Club. When they were still a very young psychedelic lo-fi group. They just had their debut cd was released. Shy! Five years later, they played again at the Marquee then burst out at the seams. ‘Let It Happen’ was when the summer hit.
