Trump nominates olielobbyist David Bernhardt as minister of the Interior

The American president Donald Trump has on Monday, the former olielobbyist David Bernhardt nominated as the new minister of the Interior. He is currently deputy minister of the department, since the departure of Ryan Zinke in december.

Bernhardt ‘has beautiful work done from the day he arrived, and we look forward to his appointment officially confirmed to get it!” said Trump on Twitter.

Environmental organisation Friends of the Earth reacted little enthusiasm on the announcement. She calls the 49-year-old Bernhardt ‘another puppet’ of polluting companies, and asks the Senate to his appointment, not approve it.

The Senate, the nomination still had to approve, and there would be that resistance bumping of senators who oppose expanding oil and gas drilling operations in sensitive environmental areas.
