French composer Michel Legrand died

The French composer and pianist Michel Legrand is in the night from Friday to Saturday, died in Paris. That has been a pr let me know. Legrand was 86.

Legrand is best known for his soundtracks for movies. He wrote the music for the musicfilms ‘Les Parapluies de Cherbourg and Les Demoiselles de Rochefort’, both directed by Jacques Demy with Catherine Deneuve.

Legrand also received three Oscars for his work.

In a career spanning more than 50 years, he worked with the biggest stars: Ray Charles and Orson Welles, but also Jean Cocteau, Frank Sinatra, Charles Trenet and Edith Piaf.
