Son James Gandolfini takes on the father character in ‘The Many Saints or Newark’

Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late actor James Gandolfini, crawl into the skin of the character with which his father became famous. In the film ‘the Many Saints or Newark’ will he show as a young Tony Soprano. His father was the key player in the legendary tv series ‘The Sopranos’.

“It is a great honor to my father’s heritage to continue by giving shape to a young Tony,” said Michael Gandolfini in a press statement. He was cast for the upcoming prequel of “The Sopranos,” after an extensive audition process. That report Deadline.

Gandolfini reportedly has the presence and mannerisms of the original Tony Soprano. Given the family history, he is a special, but at the same time, logical and commercially interesting choice.

“I think it’s great having the opportunity to work with David Chase – the creator of ‘The Sopranos’ – all the talents that he has gathered to make this film,” says Gandolfini.

The 19-year-old actor joins Alessandro Nivola, who played the role of Dickie Moltisanti, one of the mentors of the young Tony Soprano, plays. Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, Billy Magnussen, and Corey Stoll will also have a role to play, and the film is directed by Alan Taylor.

James Gandolfini died in 2013 at age 51 of a heart attack during a vacation in Rome. Michael found him on the floor of the bathroom.
