‘Le Grand Bain’ and ‘Jusqu’à la garde’ biggest contenders for the French film awards

The comic movie ‘Le Grand Bain’ by Gilles Lellouche, about five men who are to deposit to synchronised swimming, and “Jusqu’à la garde’ by Xavier Legrand, a drama about domestic violence, with each of the ten nominations, the biggest contenders for the Césars 2019. The French film awards on Friday, February 22, presented in Paris.

The two are among more chance to win the César for Best Film. They take it in that category against ‘The Sisters Brothers’ by Jacques Audiard (9 nominations), ‘La Douleur’ by Emmanuel Finkiel (8 nominations), “liberté!” from Pierre Salvadori (9 nominations), ‘Guy’, Alex Lutz (6 nominations) and ‘Pupille’ from Jeanne Herry (7 nominations).

Xavier Legrand and Gilles Lellouche are also nominated in the category Best Director, just as Emmanuel Finkiel, Pierre Salvadori, Jacques Audiard, Alex Lutz and Jeanne Herry.

In the category of Best Actor take Denis Ménochet (‘Jusqu’à la garde’), Romain Duris (“Nos batailles’), Gilles Lellouche (‘Pupille’), Edouard Baer (“Mademoiselle de Joncquières’), Vincent Lacoste (‘Amanda’), Alex Lutz (‘Guy’) and Pio Marmaï (‘liberté!’) against each other.

In the women Virginie Efira (“Un amour impossible’), Cécile de France (“Mademoiselle de Joncquières’), Elodie Bouchez (‘Pupille’), Léa Drucker (‘Jusqu’à la garde’), Adèle Haenel (“liberty”), Sandrine Kiberlain (‘Pupille’) and Mélanie Thierry (the “Jusqu’à la garde’) chance to win a César for Best Actress.
