During the 7th edition of the jazz festival Leuven Jazz, this year from 14 to 21 march takes place at several locations in the university city, is the guitar central. On the poster there are several gitaarvirtuozen such as Philip Catherine and Guillaume Vierset (LB Jazz Collective). The festival received last year about 6,500 spectators on the floor.

The absolute highlight for the organisers was the concert of the American piano duo Vijay Iyer and Craig Taborn, followed by a trioconcert with Julian Lage. That Leuven Jazz is for all ages, proves the jazz concert ‘Glimpse’ for toddlers, the Thelonious-production of Zonzo Compagnie and the Disney classic ‘The Jungle Book’ with The Original Soundtrack Live from the filmjournalisten Robin is Fragile and Jeroen Struys. There are even more jazzy filmparels shown such as ‘My Foolish Heart’ by Chet Baker. In The Libertad is a quizz about jazz organized. There are also different expos. Jazz’n Words ‘spoken word’. On Sunday march 24 there are several places in the city free “house concerts”.
