Tuesday night was during the closing ceremony of the 9th Ramdam Festival in Wallonia Tournai, the ceremony location, chosen on the basis of the votes of the public. ‘Don’t Shoot’ by director Stijn Coninx won the top prize of Best Belgian film. The fact that the award comes from a French-speaking Belgian audiences that are not familiar with the Flemish actors proves that the public also about the language of this film to appreciate. The Ramdam Festival – Le Festival du Film qui Dérange – drew this year, nearly 30,000 visitors, that’s 10% more than the edition of 2018.
Today starts the 16th week programme of ‘don’t Shoot’ and the film is still in 19 halls programmed in Flanders and Brussels. That makes that ‘don’t Shoot’, based on the book and life story of David From the Stone, the most visited Flemish film of 2018.
