In the semi-final takes Collins Thursday against the Czech Petra Kvitova (WTA 6) or the Australian Ashleigh Barty (WTA 15).
The 25-year-old Collins is working on a remarkable tournament. Up for this Australian Open, she had never been to the second round of a grand slam achieved. In Melbourne she made this year its debut on the main table.
The American stuntte away in the first round against the German Julia Görges (WTA 13). Afterwards won by her compatriot Sachia Vickery (WTA 123) and the French Caroline Garcia (WTA 19). In the eighth-finals, forces Collins German second seed Angelique Kerber (WTA 2), 6-0 and 6-2.
