No light festival in Ghent this year, in Brussels. ‘Bright Brussels’ late of 14 to February 17, the historic heart of Brussels for four days light.
The Fishmarket, the Beguinage, the rue antoine dansaert and Saint Géry, are but a few of the iconic locations in Brussels that during the festival of lights even more in the spotlight. National and international artists, there will be fourteen light installations and animations exhibit.

‘Last year the festival attracted 120.000 visitors. This year, we want to do better. This edition we put more in on a safe trail for the visitor. Several downtown streets will be reserved for the pedestrians, ” says Brussels minister of Mobility and Public Works Pascal Smet (SP.A).
The installation Njörd on the Fishmarket will already get special attention and Brussels minister-president Rudi Vervoort (PS) explains why. “This year, we celebrate the thirty years of the Brussels-Capital Region. It is through the installation Njörd on the historic Fishmarket that we have chosen to use this anniversary to catch, ” says Vervoort.
This year there is also a novelty. On presentation of the brochure of Bright Brussels, which is available at the info points, visitors can for only five euros for the temporary exhibitions in Kanal the Centre Pompidou museum.
