‘Slam’, the book from 2007 about teen pregnancy author Nick Hornby, is a Broadwaymusical. The protagonist in the story is a 17-year-old skateboarder. Skateboardicoon Tony Hawk is therefore appointed as producer of the musical, announces entertainmentmagazine Deadline.
Hawk also appears as a character in the story, which is set in the skateboardmilieu. The iconic skateboarder will also choreographies design for the new musical. The project is scheduled for the Broadwayseizoen 2020-2021. The story takes place originally in London, but the backdrop for the musical and adapted to the United States.
Producers of the musical to describe ‘Slam’ as a “funny, heart-warming, coming-of-age story about a 17-year-old boy, Sam, who for the first time to fall in love with. The tienerkoppel is unexpectedly pregnant, which Sam support is in imaginary conversations with his idol, Tony Hawk.”
