British media, hard for May: ‘Humiliation, historic defeat’

‘Fighting for her life’, is the headline in The Daily Mail, under a sip looking Theresa May. Thus, referring the newspaper to the mood of yesterday, but also to the vote of confidence in tonight. Labour had last night, after all, a motion of censure against the government-May.

‘May suffers historic defeat’, write both The Guardian as The Times, referring to the large number of ‘no’voters. Never before has a government a vote with such large numbers is lost: 432, 202 for the Brexit agreement.

The Daily Telegraph, is a far less friendly and speaks of a ‘complete humiliation’. The Sun goes one step further and sticks the head of May on a drawing of a dodo, with the caption ‘Brextinct’ and May’s deal is as dead as a dodo’.
