President of Gabon on the way to home after failed coup

The Gabonese president Ali Bongo is on his way to his homeland after more than two months abroad spent as a result of a stroke. Last week there was an attempted coup in Gabon.

In the capital city of Libreville is Bongo Tuesday the swearing-in of his new government, as is Monday, heard in the entourage of the president.

Last week there was an attempted coup in Gabon. The putschisten justified their action inter alia with the consequences of the health condition of Ali Bongo on the governance of the country. The coup failed, however.

Ali Bongo was at the end of October 2018 first in the hospital in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia. Later he lived in Morocco, first in a military hospital, then into a private residence in the capital Rabat.

Gabon is already fifty years run by the same family. The 59-year-old Ali Bongo took in 2009 on the power of his father.
