Writer and former journalist Henk Blanken (59) got eight years ago, the diagnosis of Parkinson’s and is nevertheless happier than ever, he said Monday in an interview with the Volkskrant.
“As long as I can write, think and read,” he says. “I write every day. Writing is for me the ultimate happiness. The crazy paradox is that I have more time to write, have since I was told that my time is limited.”
Since Whites at the age of 51 got to hear that he has Parkinson’s, a disease in which the nerve cells slowly die off, he has but a quarter of the energy of the past, he talks hard and he walks with a stick.
