Frédéric Vervisch takes the victory in the 24 Hours of Dubai for Dries Vanthoor

Frédéric Vervisch (Audi R8) Saturday the fourteenth edition of the 24 Hours of Dubai (United Arab Emirates) on his list of achievements is written. Vervisch dominated a large part of the race, with the Dutchman Rik Breukers and the Germans Christopher Haase and Dominic Parhofer at his side. Dries Vanthoor, with the Arabiër Mohammed Saud Fahad Al Saud, the Dutchman Michael Vergers and the German Christopher Mies, was with his Audi WRT second.

The four Vervisch/Breukers/Haase/Parhofer finally won with 607 laps. Vanthoor and co were at the start of the race, by neutralisaties and a good pitsstrategie of Vervisch and co, a round behind and were never overtaken.

Tom Boonen (Audi RS3) reed, on the side of countrymen Radermecker and Eric, a Frenchman, Perrin, long in the lead in the TCR-race, but saw a victory go up in smoke due to a technical problem a few hours before the arrival.

What the other Belgians are concerned: Of Dosselaer/Dosselaer/Houdhoofdt/Dierckx/Dierckx (BMW) won in the A3 class. Verdonck/Breucker/Gillion/Verhaeren (Mercedes) were third in the GT4, and the Belgians Van der Straten/Vanloocke/Close were the German Haugg and the Luxemburger Putz fourth in the SPX.
