Ernesto Valverde doesn’t know whether he is next season the coach of FC Barcelona. The 54-year-old Spaniard has a contract that is coming the end of summer, but the commitment includes an option on a third year.

“We will decide at the end of the season whether I go or not. That will depend on how this season is progressing,” said Valverde Saturday in the run-up to the first game of 2019 Sunday against Getafe.

Valverde came in mid-2017 to Barcelona as a replacement for Luis Enrique and led the Catalans in his first two years relatively easily to the ‘double’.
