Brussels Anderlecht will be for the new year, no new coach. Purple-and-white spoke to the youngest days with Phillip Cocu, but that turned out to be really a mission impossible. The Dutchman has just fired at Fenerbahçe and now if he signs in the botanical garden ‘Astridpark’ he loses a lot of its large Turkish ontslagpremie. Therefore, Cocu Anderlecht, he’s in Brussels up to 4 million euro salary and bonuses per year wanted to earn or otherwise much prefer a sabbatperiode inlaste.

Purple-and-white thought, however, that it is through Frank Arnesen, however, a compromise might come in. The athletic director knows the coach is still at PSV, and Chris van der Weerden – Cocu’s permanent assistant, who was allowed to come to the RSCA – is Arnesens son-in-law. Unfortunately, negotiations in Istanbul with Fenerbahçe and conversations with Cocu yielded nothing. The trainer did barely concessions, which Anderlecht finally decided that it was better to aim at a trainer that eager to come.

Who that is, is still just guess work. The Dane Kasper Hjulmand (46) was anyway one of the alternatives, and he stands up to jump to come. His team Nordsjaelland to want a lump sum of about 1 million, but that is, like his loon – not insurmountable.

No Belgians

All is Hjulmand, of course, no big name and Anderlecht still want to extract. That is why the Dutchman Martin Jol (62) is pushed forward. It is already two years without a job, but coached in the past, Tottenham, Hamburg, Ajax and Fulham. Arnesen worked with him at Tottenham.

The coaches Roberto Donadoni (ex-AC Milan), Vincenzo Montella (ex-Roma, Milan, Seville) and Laurentiu Reghecampf (ex-Steaua Bucharest) are solely offered and trainers are as yet no candidates for the job. That seems also to apply for Belgian trainers.
