Jaap Stam (46) has been appointed as coach of the Dutch premiere league club PEC Zwolle. The former international of Orange is the successor of the earlier this month dismissed John van ‘t schip. He signed a contract for a year and a half.
Tribe is not unknown in Zwolle. The ex-defender started his career as a voetbalprof and also his first few years in the coaching he spent at PEC Zwolle as an assistant. The last club he coached was the English club Reading. He helped the club in 2017, almost to promotion to the Premier League, but after lesser results in the year he was in march of this year, redundancies at the club.
Tribe played 67 games in the Dutch national team and was active in the european cup 1996, world cup 1998, EURO 2000 and euro 2004.
“PEC Zwolle is a club to my heart and it feels good to be back. The club I am in recent years continue to follow and it is nice to see what growth there is. Before Tribe to England, he was the coach of Jong Ajax. At the Amsterdam club he played his last matches as a prof. He can boast an impressive career as a footballer. At Manchester United he celebrated himself three times in the title in the Premier League. Also won the ‘Rock Camps’ with that club in the 1999 Champions League.
