Dynasties: a prestigious natuurreeks about iconic animals

After the successful remakes of Planet Earth and Blue Planet presents Canvas with Dynasties, another groundbreaking natuurreeks of BBC Earth.

Unlike the previous two series, it is not an update of our global knowledge of the earth or the oceans. Dynasties brings, on the contrary, in-depth and intimate portraits of five very specific, iconic animals, their family and their environment. At four will be the effective about the individual animals over a long period of time be followed: a chimpanzee, a lioness, African wild dog, and a tiger. The fifth species is a colony koningspinguïns.

All the animals were months observed in their natural environment, from the African savannas to the Indian jungle, and from the edge of the Sahara to the ice-desert of Antarctica. It is a new kind of natuurdocumentaires with carefully worked stories about families of animals and their leaders. They must fight to survive in difficult circumstances and in a world where their habitat is increasingly threatened. Because just like Planet Earth and Blue Planet also contains Dynasties a clear ecological message: the available space for wild animals is getting smaller and that is bad for their chances of survival.

Dynasties was made by the team of Planet Earth II, under the auspices of David Attenborough, the godfather of the British natuurdocumentaires. He also reads the English version of the documentaries. With us is that, like Planet Earth II, and Blue Planet II Vic De Wachter.
