Reiner praises like many others, the humor of Marshall

Actor and director Rob Reiner remembers his ex-wife Penny Marshall and sends a sweet tribute on Twitter after her death Monday. Marshall died at the age of 75 at the consequences of diabetes. Friends and fans share their grief on social media.

Reiner was the second husband of Marshall and adoptive father of her daughter Tracy. Their marriage ended after ten years in 1981. “I loved Penny. I am with her grown up,” tweette he. “She was born with a great gift. They had a sense of humor and the instinct of how to use it. I had the luck with her and her sense of humor to have lived. I will miss her”.

Marshall’s Get Shorty co-star Danny DeVito, and her Happy Days castmate Ron Howard also shared good memories. “Penny Marshall was a sweet woman. I had the good fortune to spend time with her. As much as laughed. She had a heart of gold. Tough as nails. Always All the love, D,” posted DeVito, while Howard wrote, “#RIPPennyMarshall She was funny & so smart. They made the transition from sitcom star to A-List film director with ease. All that & always relaxed, funny & totally unpretentious. I was lucky that I knew her and with her have worked.

Robert De Niro, who has the leading role in Marshall’s 1990 drama Awakenings, told, “Penny will be missed. May they rest in peace,” and her A League of Their Own star Rosie O’donnell tweeted, “Simply heartbroken #ripPENNY.

“Sad to hear of the death of Penny Marshall’s. A great comedienne, a great director and a good friend,” shared komedielegende Billy Crystal, that she is also commended for paving the way for female comedy stars and filmmakers. “Penny Marshall was one of the most important pioneers,” said actress Olivia Munn. “Her comedic talents brought success and fame, but they really broke the form with its direction – Big, Awakenings, A League of Their Own – and became the first woman in a film directed with a gross profit of more than $ 100 million. Rest in love, PM”.

Director Ava DuVernay posted, “Thank you, Penny Marshall. For the trails that get you blown up. The laughter that you gave. The hearts that you heated,” and actress Marlee Matlin tweeted, ,,I am sorry to read that she died. Director, producer and actress who is the humor, the intellect, and the determination had to be on equal footing with the guys in Hollywood. Goodbye Penny, we will miss you. RIP”.
