Canvas can look back on a strong (after)years and will in the spring of 2019 to continue on the same elan, with brand new titles, a surprising terugkomer, fixed values, new seasons of trusted programs, and penalty online initiatives. The offer is varied, relevant, and inspiring, with news and current affairs, documentaries, culture, film and fiction, human interest, satire, quiz and sports.
“It goes great with Canvas,” says network manager Olivier Goris. “Last autumn was the strongest of the last few years. The ratings were excellent, and Canvas made all the difference with programs that you don’t see on other Flemish channels. Canvas had this autumn (september to november, 4+, live+7, 20-26 hours), with a market share of 8.2%, compared to 7.5% in the same period last year. What is noticeable is the fact that the most popular programs at the same time, programs with a large social relevance in the area of topicality, politics, history, economy and social themes. What they have in common is that they are closely linked to what is happening amongst the people. And that is no coincidence, because there is the Canvas to do it.
In this area, as The appointment continued their strong rate further, with an average of, respectively, readership of 219.000 and 177.000 viewers (september to end of november, live+7, without loop), compared to 210.000 and 162.000 in the same period last year.
