The best European comedy film of the year is “The Death of Stalin”, a French-British-Belgian co-production. That Saturday night, announced on the 31st edition of the European Film Awards (EFA’s), in the Zuis-Spanish Seville.
The cynical film “The Death of Stalin” was directed by Armando Ianucci. In the cast are sitting well-known names as Michael Palin and Steve Buscemi. The Belgian contribution came from the Brussels-based production company La Compagnie Cinématographique.
The other nominees for best comedy film, “Le Sens de la Fête (C’est la vie! )” of Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache and “Diamantino”, by Gabriel Abrantes and Daniel Schmidt.
“The Death of Stalin” is also selected for the audience award.
The EFA splits, just like the Golden Globes, the ‘best film’ category into two: best film and best comedy film. In the category of best film is “Girl” by Lukas Dhont chance to hoofdvogel to shoot.
