‘Cold war’ from director Pawel Pawlikowski is Saturday in Seville was awarded best European film during the 31st edition of the European film awards. The film also won four other awards: best director, best screenwriter, best actress and best mechanic.
As the title indicates, the film is set during the Cold War. The decor is the Poland under Stalin and Paris in the fifties. A musician, who fiercely yearns for freedom, and a young singer live an impossible love.
In the category for best film was also ‘Girl’ of our compatriot Lukas Dhont selected, ‘Border’ Ali Abbasi, ‘Dogman’ by Matteo Garrone and “Heureux comme Lazzaro’ by Alice Rohrwacher.
