Between 13 and 25 september are due to a bug in the app of Facebook more photos of 6.8 million users shared with third-party apps would be allowed. That has Facebook itself notified.
The bug hit users who are permitted gifts to apps to make their photos to see. Normally, only photos shared to the user in question on his timeline. But by the bug, there were more: photos that have been shared on such Marketplace or Facebook Stories, and uploads that the user ultimately not published.
Facebook reports that up to 6.8 million users, and up to 1,500 apps have been affected. The company offers his apologies and says that it is a tool will roll out that app-developers can find out which users with the bug. “We will work with developers to cooperate for the photos of the affected users to remove’, says the company.
The affected users will soon also get a warning when they log into Facebook. It is, for now, unclear or Belgian Facebook users have been affected. Facebook was Friday night not reachable for a comment.
