Thierry Neuville may Hyundai with negenvoudig rallywereldkampioen Sébastien Loeb and a new teammate welcome. The Frenchman will be in 2019 at the start of six of the fourteen WRC-races. That the South Korean manufacturer announced.
The 44-year-old Loeb signed, together with his co-driver Daniel Elena a two-year contract with Hyundai. He creeps right behind the steering wheel for the openingsmanche of the world CHAMPIONSHIP, Monte Carlo rally (24-27 January). In October won a Loeb with a Citroën in Catalonia 79th world cup race of his career, the first since Argentina 2013. “The victory in Spain sparked the desire to continue to race again,” says Loeb, who, until now his entire WRC career for Citroën reed. “At Hyundai, we find a new challenge, I can’t wait to go.”
Dani Sordo will be eight world cup races, starting in Mexico (7-10 march). The Spaniard put his signature under a contract for an additional year, its sixth consecutive at Hyundai. Last year he shared a car with Hayden Paddon. Hyundai is negotiating with the New Zealander about his future role in the team. The Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen will drive next season, with the third Hyundai car.
Neuville managed last season, just not in as the first Belgian rallywereldtitel to tackle, which he had to the Frenchman Sébastien Ogier. After 2013, 2016 and 2017 ended up Neuville for the fourth time as second in the world cup. (belga)
