That he is in talks with the supervisory board and general director Edwin van der Sar agreed.
“I am now twenty years old and working at Ajax,” says the 57-year-old Doldrums. “They were very intensive years, with many highlights and, of course, less fun stages. What I will always remember are the special routes with foreign clubs which led to large transfers. Then I think of the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Juventus and Jan Vertonghen to Tottenham Hotspur. But also to the incoming transfers, such as that of Cristian Chivu and Dusan Tadic.”
General director Edwin van der Sar also responds to the news: “I want to Jeroen, thank you for the past six years in which we have worked in close cooperation. Especially in my first years as a board member, I have really learned a lot from him. I’m sure that we also in the coming months to his departure the good will work together. Jeroen is in the Ajax organisation known as a hardworking and competent colleague. In anticipation of his retirement, I wish him, on behalf of the other members of the board, to thank for his commitment to the club and already wish every success in his further career.”
