Rudi Völler, the former German topspits and current sporting director of Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday attacker Leon Bailey supported. The former winger of Racing Genk is struggling with a vormdip.
“This happens more often in young players”, explained Völler from, for travel to Cyprus, where Bayer Leverkusen at AEK Larnaca last groepsduel in the Europa League games. “They launch like a rocket, but then a little quiet. Sometimes the expectations are also too high. You can’t expect that every week two times will score. It helps to remain humble and to continue to work. It is only a matter of time before this difficult period is already over. Leon is a good guy and has his talent been repeatedly shown.”
The 21-year-old Jamaican grew last season with nine competitiegoals to the revelation of Leverkusen. The team was fifth in the Bundesliga and just missed out on a hair after qualification for the Champions League. This season is, however, far less for Bailey. The attacker scored not more, since september 1, and lost in the meantime his basic.
Leverkusen plays in Cyprus for the group profit in group A. The Germans are already sure of the next round, and left with Lukas Hradecky, Jonathan Tah, Sven Bender, Karim Bellarabi, Charles Aranguiz, Kevin Volland, Tin Jedvaj and Kai Havertz almost a very basic team at home.
