Germain Gigounon will next year the sports team around Yanina Wickmayer join. That made the 29-year-old tennis player Tuesday via Twitter known. Gigounon announced Monday his retirement as a player after a career of twelve years on the professional circuit.
“I look very much forward to this chapter and this new challenge with someone who is very motivated and positive,” writes Wickmayer, 122e on the WTA-ranking. “Thank you to my goals, to believe and have confidence.”
Gigounon was at this time on the 354e place in the ATP ranking. His highest place ever (185e) dates back to August 2015. The Henegouwer raised himself once for the main table of a Grand Slam, Roland Garros in 2015. He lost in the first round of local hero Richard Gasquet.
