Former Belgian goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff (65) promised on the deathbed lying father that he is the best goalkeeper in the world would be.
“The largest of the world. Papa took me one time to play. I see him still standing there, high in the grandstand, with his scarf around the neck. That was one of those moments that you never forget (…) My father was standing there and said: ‘That is going to be a great be.’ A week later, he was dead,” he says in interview with the Belgian magazine Humo.
Pfaff kept his word and was established in 1987 by the IFFHS was appointed best goalkeeper in the world. In the years before he became three times champion of Germany with Bayern Munich.
