The American singer and actress Janelle Monáe will play in the biopic of feminist Gloria Steinem. That message Deadline.
Monáe plays in “The Glorias: A Life on the Road” next to Julianne Moore (“The Big Lebowski”, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle”) and Alicia Vikander (“Anna Karenina”, “Tomb Raider”).
The film by director Julie Taymor talks about the 84-year-old American feminist journalist and activist Gloria Steinem in different stages of her life. The script is inspired by the memories of the creator of Ms. Magazine.
The movie comes in January in Savannah, Georgia, is in production and is not the only biopic in which Janelle Monáe will appear. The 33-year-old also plays along in a movie about Harriet Tubman, an activist for the abolition of the nineteenth-century African-American slavery.
The singer, among other “I Like That” and “Make Me Feel” made her schermdebuut in the Oscar-winning “Moonlight” and now provides her voice in upcoming film “UglyDolls” and “Lady and the Tramp”.
