Lawyer Bénédicte Ficq and pulmonologist Wanda de Kanter were named most influential women by 2018. The two accused the tobacco industry in the fight against smoking. Editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine, Marianne Verhoeven, says about the winning duo: “We are totally behind you and we will keep you follow.”
The list consists of ten categories each with a winner. Ficq and Kanter won in the health category. Other winners were: Beatrice de Graaf (education and science), Lilian Ploumen (politics), and Bibian Mentel (sport). Further, it is Margrite Kalverboer the most influential in the field of public administration/policy, Lotte de Bruijn of technology, Shirin Musa of non-profit, and Marry the Theme Fortman on the premises of the business.
