The former German cut out for sprinter Erik Zabel is next season, the new Performance Manager at WorldTour team Katusha-Alpecin. That made the team, which rides under a Swiss license, Friday, well-known during the team presentation of the German Koblenz.
The now 48-year-old Zabel has signed a contract for one season and will focus on the spring classics and the Tour. “I can with this new job my experience as a rider to other riders in order to improve performance”, showed Zabel maya.
The German will be with Katusha-Alpecin cooperate directly with his son Rick, who since 2017 the colors of the team defends.
