The Portuguese Jorge Mendes, the agent of top coach, José Mourinho, has Friday, explicitly confirmed that his compatriot is “very happy” at Manchester United.
“There are rumors about the departure of Mourinho from Manchester”, started Mendes in an official statement. “But there is nothing. José is very happy at the club and the club is very happy with him. He has a long-term contract and is determined to project to continue.”
The declaration of Mendes comes after a stream of rumors that sir alex ferguson, Manchester United would (should) leave. The 55-year-old Portuguese signed in January but signed a new contract until mid-2020 (with an option on an extra season), but was by the disappointing results in a variety of media linked to a dismissal. The Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino, the current T1 of Tottenham, is cited as his possible successor. Mourinho himself is in some media, then again linked to a return to Real Madrid, the club where he between 2010 and 2013 already head coach. Also, the stormy relationship between Mourinho and star player Paul Pogba is frequently raked.
Manchester United has a difficult season and is currently only eighth in the Premier League, on 18 points of leader and city rival Manchester City. The Mancunians know after fifteen days actually even have a negative goal difference (-1). The placement for the eighth finals of the Champions League is the only bright spot. The last national championship of Manchester United dates back to the meantime of the 2012-2013 season.
