Eline De Munck and musician Wouter Berlaen get the mediaonderscheiding of the working Group, Furthermore, for their theatre play about suicide.
The winner was announced during the Day of the Survivors, an annual meeting for survivors after suicide, police and first responders. Eline De Munck and musician Wouter Berlaen names after their presentation the award.
The duo made the presentation at the request of Crazy!?. The jury, consisting of journalists, fictiemakers and practitioners from the suicide, to praise them for the serene and hopeful way in which they are in this ‘Open Mind’-a play about suicide.
Eline De Munck, itself also a relative of a grandmother who, by suicide, was killed, also read letters of suicidal persons and their relatives (see also here for an interview with De Muynck nav. this proposition).
The jury found it a plus that the show took into account the fact that there is both suicidal persons as dependents in the hall could be present. Also asked De Munck and Berlaen in advance advice to the working Group and the Flemish centre of Expertise Suicide, ‘by which they showed that the mediarichtlijnen were of great importance for their theater tour.’
