A new UN report is clear: all countries have their klimaatinspanningen triple, we want to be by 2100 the target of 1.5 degree warming.

That it does not go well with the fight against climate change, it is not a secret. The optimism of Paris is long gone. How serious the condition is, according to a new analysis of the Unep, the environment agency of the United Nations.
In the climate deal Paris talked all countries to global warming to 1.5 degree limit. This involved the countries plans in which they outline how they are on a national level, emissions of greenhouse gases would limit. All the national plans together should lead to that objective is met.
But that voluntary plans to shoot hopelessly inadequate, is evident from the analysis of the UN researchers. They examined the state of affairs in the year 2018, and their conclusion is harsh: all countries should step up their efforts to triple, we want to be by 2100 the target of 1.5 degree.
That the report today, is no coincidence. Starting next week in Katowice, Poland the annual climate conference of the UN. The aim is for the countries to indicate how they made their national klimaatplannen will sharpen. But a lot of animo for this is not there.
Emissions historically high
The emissions of greenhouse gases reached this year a historic high and there is no indication that the peak is in sight. Only 57 countries – accounting for 60 percent of global emissions – are on the right track by 2030 their piekuitstoot to achieve.
‘The recent report of the UN-klimaatpanel was worldwide the fire alarm. With this report, we conduct research to the arson’, says Joyce Msuyna, deputy managing director of the Unep, the situation together.
That the fire, sometimes literally taken may be, they know, among others, in California. The forest fires there were verwoestender than ever. That the warming of the earth’s natural disasters worsens and intensifies, more and more scientists confirmed. Also, the Us Congress published last week a major report in which the consequences of climate change for the U.s. economy outlined. The economic damage will be by 2100 amount to hundreds of billions of dollars.
Trump says no
But the American president Donald Trump swept the conclusions yesterday of the table. “I view the report, I have a part of it read, but I believe there is not in,” he said. The influence of the climate sceptics in the White House is great. Also, Larry Kudlow, Trumps economic counselor, swept last month, the UN climate scientists in the mantle. “Their reports are the last twenty years, not very successful.’
In their report, designate the Unep researchers to ensure that cities, businesses, and regional governments, however, big efforts. Nevertheless, national states will be crucial to efforts to send. And the negative impact of Trump should not be underestimated.
At the end of this week, the leaders of the G20, the twentieth largest economies, together in Argentina. Also there is the theme on the agenda, but a lot of urgency does not speak from the text. Last year, the U.S. has a lot on the knuckles, because they’re out of the climate deal Paris were stepped on. This is currently not the case. In the text, however, that the road in Paris is stamped ‘irreversible’. But there it remains.
